Our History in North Carolina
T.R. Lawing Realty was founded in 1957 by Thomas R. Lawing, Sr. and his wife, Catherine H. Lawing. What started as a local real estate operation of the 10-year-old Laureldale Apartments in Charoltte quickly grew alongside the expanding North Carolina rental market, laying the foundation for what would become one of the region’s most established residential property management companies.
Over the decades, the company evolved into a full-service rental property management firm serving multiple North Carolina counties through offices in Charlotte, Huntersville, Shelby, and Albemarle. In 1995, Mr. and Mrs. Lawing retired and leadership transitioned to the next generation. Today, the company remains privately owned and is managed by second- and third-generation property managers, Thomas R. Lawing, Jr. and T. Joseph Rempson.
For almost 70 years, we have managed the details for hundreds of individual investors and homeowner associations throughout the Charlotte region and beyond. While the real estate market has changed significantly over time, our commitment to professional management, accountability, and long-term client relationships has remained constant — principles that continue to guide our family-owned business today.
